Re-Webbing M1 Helmet Liners
Author: Chris Guska
Date: July, 2009

Tools and Equipment you'll need to complete this project.

Ok, so now that you want to re-web a helmet liner or a bunch of them, you'll probably want to have the following on hand prior to starting.

Tools:
Eyegoggles
Electric Drill or Dremel Tool - both have their place and are handy
Set of quality drill bits, rated for Steel. You need atleast a good 5/32nds drill bit.
Pin Punch / Center Punch
Vise with Anvil, big block of hard wood, or some other hard stable work surface
Wire Brush
Assortment of hammers - It helps to have a few different sized / shaped hammers
Pliers
Rivet Setting Die

Consumeables:
Rubber "stripping" gloves - the ones specifically made for paint stripping
Paper Towels
Steel Wool / Scotchbrite pad - either or is fine, just to help remove all the paint
Citri-Strip
Naval Jelly
Paint, Rapco OD 23070 Light Lustreless Khaki Olive Drab (spraycan)
Windex or other household cleaner
Sharpie or other marking pen

If you're "Seriously Hardcore!" (cheap) or just plain stupid and plan on making your own helmet liner webbing kits, you will need the following:

Scissors
Pinking Shears
Rotary Hole Punch - or some other kind of hole punch capable of cutting holes in the webbing
Segma Snap setting dies
1/8 inch Eyelets
1/8 inch Eyelet setting dies or eyelet setting pliers
Lots of beer.
