The M-1938 Legging - An Introduction

Factory-Made Cut Downs?--
Some were manufactured 3” shorter, right from the factory – this mirrored what many GI’s were doing with the trench knife or bayonet.


A transitional example, manufactured with a 1943 contract. Compare this to the OD #7 as shown below.

 


Short Leggings - compare to the full length. It appears that the vast majority of factory made short leggings were transitional or OD #7.
